Article III

Article 3 – God the Father

1. There is but one living and true God,
   1. Isa. 45:5,6; I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
2. immanent, transcendent, infinite in being and perfection, pure spirit,
   1. John 4:24; God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
3. Invisible, immutable.
   1. Mal. 3:6a; For I am the LORD, I change not. 
4. Eternal, almighty, all wise.
   1. Rom. 11:33,34; O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
5. Most holy, most free, most loving, most gracious, most merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.
   1. Exo. 34:6,7; And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
6. The rewarder of them that diligently seek Him, and withal most just and terrible in His judgments, hating all sin. He will by no means clear the guilty.
   1.
